Notes from a Stylist says goodbye to Christmas
It's the last day of the Holidays so time to take the Christmas deccies down. I know, I know, it's not 12th night and all that but the key here is if am to have any aid in the whole process of schlepping sparkly things into boxes and then into the attic, it's got to be a weekend when there are several pairs of hands loafing around. Add to this the fact that we're moving house in less than 2 weeks and that New Year frisson of excitement is beginning to wane into a daunting worry of too much to do in too little time.
So my lovely warm & snuggly seasonal sanctuary, that for the last two weeks smelled of pine festive scents, has been decimated to leave that really dull bare post Christmas look.
If I wasn't moving the whole empty space thing could easily be amended with a sneaky lighting purchase in the form of those yummy Arco floor lights from Design Within Reach. Or then again as we're in the middle of a recession, maybe a lookey likey light for a tenth of the price from CB2.
Or maybe the ubiquitous Egg chair, which have had my eyes on for a few months but was hoping would be in the sale and could slip it into our removal truck and then declare it an old family heirloom that my old ma had shipped over as a glorious surprise - on second thoughts that might be a tad difficult to pull off.
So will have to stand down on interior purchases for at least 10 days, by which time no doubt I will have scoped out 5 other more interesting pieces that will be on my 'must have' list - at which point I think shall skip down to my buddy's shop Trovare which is a fab mix of vintage and modern style - just the ticket for my new space...
