Stylish ladies in this months V magazine

Am loving these shots of plus size models taken by Solve Sundsbo for the January edition of V Magazine (out 14th January). It's not often you get a spread in a mag that shows real size women let alone the ladies themselves wearing a couple of trends that we will be seeing a lot of  in the forthcoming Spring/Summer 10 season.

Mercedes-Benz New York fashion week last fall was full of distressed denim, underwear as outerwear paired with fierce heels. How to translate that look to wear on the street and not on the catwalk is another matter.

Thought you'd seen enough denim last season? think again - if the designer runways are anything to go by you'll be seeing more denim in more innovative incarnations than you can shake a big stick at. Even Ralph Lauren must be shaking his head wondering why all these designer dudes have jumped on his band wagon.

Although the denim thing may be an easy trend to adopt for us regular folk - the underwear as outerwear thing is a tad more tricky. Luckily the pieces are set to emulate the softer tones of the 40's and 50's with peaches and pastels in silks and satins in the mix at Marc Jacobs. If you're going to have a bash at this one, steer clear of vibrant colors lest you look like a candidate for the local tarts and vicars party.
