Notes from a Stylist is getting fit


I seem to have unwittingly signed up for some personal training fitness sessions - it all started as a master plan to turn hubs back into a being more resembling an Action Man figure rather than the weeble he has become, but seems to have back fired on me.

This training lark is always a bit of a double edged sword for me as that old adage 'calories in/calories out' never quite works in my world. It's more like 'calories in/calories out/fill empty cavernous hole in stomach made by exercise with vast amounts of fast food to satisfy hunger', so as you see I never quite conquer the whole vicious cycle.



The good news is that my new instructor is charming and likes to spend a large amount of time talking about nutrition rather than actually making me jump up and down like a fool - although that being said, thinking back on it there was a fair amount of jumping that went on too. I ascertained early on whether I would indeed be able to drive my car home after the 3rd set of full press ups (no girly press ups for me!)

So the nutrition thing seems to be about loading up on whey milk - hang on a minute, wouldn't that make me Miss Muffet sitting on her tuffet? Was she a closet work out junky and was caught sitting on said tuffet during a brief respite between squat thrusts?

So it's off to Whole Foods for me this weekend, armed with a list a mile long of supplements and whacky multigrain seeds that would certainly excite a squirrel - just before I turn into Cameron Diaz, I'm wondering whether any of this stuff comes layered in chocolate?
