Notes from a Stylist is now an Art collector
I love a good Art show and last nights Alexander Creswell AquaTerra show (at Hirschl and Adler in New York's classy Upper East side), was one great show. A slight departure from his usual work depicting beautiful architectural scenes, this exhibition is about huge yachts in full competition - an unlikely marriage of themes but nonetheless it works. He uses his distinctive style of combining subtle coloring and skillful draughtmanship coupled with a reverence for natural light to pull off a wonderful exhibition that is well worth a visit.
After such esoteric company it was off to David Burke's Townhouse restaurant for a bite to eat - now he's more famous for his cheesecake lollipops which we didn't quite get to, but the angry lobster was certainly something worth getting excited about.
So it was back to the burbs after a fun night with a small receipt for a Creswell picture burning a hole in my pocket...
