Benefit or Bar Mitzvah - 2 events, 1 night, 1 dress...

So how's a girl to survive when she has 2 events to hit in one night with exactly 30 minutes switch over time between the two. The answer has to be all about the heels... oh and some nifty customizing of an Alberta Ferretti dress that has been lying dormant in a closet for the past 5 years.

Having never been to a Bar Mitzvah before, this was an event I did not want to miss, typically though, the school Benefit hit up on the same night and, as the events Fashion Blogger, attendance was a must. So a quick rifle through my wardrobe unearthed a cute Ferretti silk sleeveless shift which was a bargain from Yoox.com but never quite made the cut of actually being worn, and as every Fashionista knows, you NEVER turn down a bargain.. right...?

On closer inspection and on the minus side, the dress was too long and the hem hit at a particularly lumpy part of thick calf (hence it's hibernation in the closet). On the plus side it had this Seasons zip details and diamante zip pulls to boot. Sadly only 2 of the 3 zip pulls had survived its dormant years so it was off to Claire's Accessories for some tatty fake ear rings and some superglue to amend the problem with my Stylists customization skills, along with a stint at my favorite dry cleaners with their magic hemming skills.

Armed or should that be 'footed' with a pair of nude patent Christian Louboutin stacked heels with zip detail (score!), for the first  Benefit gig, a quick change into some Jimmy Choo 24:7 Mary Jane heels for the more rocking Bar Mitzvah where serious dancing was taking place, and my work was done.

Tomorrow night it's off to the 2010 Tribeca Ball - I'm wondering if the glue on the zippers will hold out for one more event...
