Last week Women's Wear Daily reported that the most exciting trend to come out of the forthcoming fashion week may well be that the clothes will actually be ready to wear this season.
Marc Karimzadeh & David Moin of WWD suggested that 'relevance' might be the saving grace of fashion in these recession obsessed times. The Resort 2010 shows offered a series of separates from designers like Tibi and 3.1 Phillip Lim, at sensible price points that discerning buyers could cherry pick to enhance their wardrobe rather than buy an all out look.
But with the next slew of shows fast approaching we will watch with interest to see if this trend of buyable clothes follows through. Retailers, trend analysts & shoppers alike are looking forward to seeing more bang for their buck to inspire punters back to the stores... watch this space.....
