It's actually quite hard to be transported to the South of France on a rainy New York Sunday, thinking balmy thoughts and wishing you were dressed in silks and linens. But Catherine Malandrino managed it with a french chanteuse blasting out jazzy swing, while her models teetered on pedestals outside the Lincoln Centre.
Most of the models looked freezing as the weather was not in their favor, but their garb smacked of Nikki beach and warmer climes. There were chiffon tops mixed with linen boy shorts, tunics embellished with beading and macrame leather thigh high sandals that would probably mess up your tan line situation.
With a smattering of NY housewives sneaking a peak, and the original street style photographer Bill Cunningham from the New York Times there to document all, this fashion show did not let the weather get the best of it.
