It was only Monday whilst traversing Bleecker Street that my Danish shopping accomplice and I came to the conclusion that New York boutiques just don't have that quirk factor that London or indeed European boutiques have.
Stick your nose in Scoop these days and you might as well be in Saks 5th Avenue, you'd be forgiven for thinking Intermix is simply a cozy Barneys.... so imagine my delight when I happened upon a store opening in my 'hood' today which is the fourth in a chain of stores that are happy to step out of the box and offer some good old fashioned 'alternative' lines... think Antik Batik, By Malene Birger, Collette Dinnigan and that L.A. favorite Haute Hippie.
My Danish buddy for one will be straight in there to scope out the brands.
