The Quest for the perfect Military Jacket

I'm quite liking the military trend - just enough tailoring to get by, a smidgen of an epaulette here, a nod to the embellishment trend there - the trouble is I seem to be addicted to buying into it and never quite getting the right thing.

Not being satisfied with my 'early adopter' purchase of this jacket from Anthropologie back in March,

My inner shopaholic has been vexed with the thought that really I need to be sporting military green and not Khaki beige.

I took a peek at the J.Crew utility jacket but found that a tad too Che Guevara for my liking.

Another attempt (and a purchase down the swanny) was a panic buy from Juicy Couture's Bird range. I say 'panic buy' but it was more of a 'competitive buy' - a buddy bought one during an evening out - our eyes fell upon the jacket at the same moment but she was faster than me and scooped it up. 

So as not to be outdone, I ordered online once back home - of course trying the dam thing on prior to stashing the packaging and purchase evidence might have been the canny way to go, but a shopaholics methods are never to be questioned.... this jacket is now proudly sitting in the 'slightly too large' section of my closet.

So imagine my joy when my latest purchase from Calypso turned out to be THE jacket - more of a shirt/jacket really, but none the less - just enough olive, the right amount of structure and a liberal helping of army bling... that is until I spy the next one.....
