Heading to the Hamptons this Memorial weekend but a bit perturbed as to whether your inner shopaholic can be assuaged? No self respecting City girl could be blamed for wondering if a foray into the back of beyond might mess with her shopping mojo. Fear not ladies for Balenciaga has rented space in East Hampton at 54 Main Street where Brooks Brothers once reigned supreme.
Locals must have been feeling the recession pinch as last summer big name brands were shutting up shop all over the place. Gucci even retreated which must have been a clear sign that things were bad. But luckily, with Balenciaga's move, things are on the up and up. Intermix will not be the only lone wolf keeping Hamptonites clothed for the season.
Truth be told I was getting quite bored of the same old Poupette kaftans on the lovely locals, I'm quite looking forward to viewing a strong shoulder padded look on the beach this season not to mention scoping out how this years color blocking trend fares....
