The Great American Trunk Show

Unaccustomed as I am to shopping... (...cough!...) the Trunk Show is something I for one had not come across in all my Fashion Styling years in the UK. Once I set foot on American soil, a whole new shopping opportunity emerged - and one that involved coffee and cakes to boot. Generally, it seems, the Trunk show is set up in someone's home or in a quiet corner of your local boutique where this Season's spoils are available to filter through and test drive at your own pace (refreshments in hand).

A couple of my more style savvy buddies swear by them and rarely step foot in an actual shop anymore, and after my recent experience at the Worth Collection Trunk show, I might be going in the same direction.

In beautiful surroundings and a mere 5 minutes from home, I was walked through the collection for Spring and Summer, advised how the system works - there are codes on each item that allow you to figure out what you can pair with what, and which other color lines the item can be found in. I then got to try on various pieces and rummage around the accessories. I spotted a few pieces that will work well on an upcoming vacation and price points were not too scary.

With another Designer Trunk show in my sights the week after next, I think I could begin to quite fancy this new style of shopping....
