This is one to stick in your diary and head on in to the City for, Wednesday April 21st Barneys is going to be running a gargantuan Trunk show featuring some of the current coolest designers on the planet.
They plan to show simultaneously 10 Trunk shows in their Madison Avenue flagship store on the Co-Op floor from 2-8pm. With more of a party atmosphere in mind - less upper east side ladies who lunch, more downtown crowd who know how to spot a hot label - some of the designers will be on hand from 5-8pm for a sneak peak at their fall items (which you can pre-order on the spot), and also show off some limited edition pieces.
The Designer hit list reads like a who's who in ultimate closet envy : ALC, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rag & Bone, Shipley & Halmos, Alexander Wang, Helmut Lang, Richard Chai-LOVE, Vena Cava, VPL and Wayne. All this and DJ Beverly Bond to keep the party going, it's going to be some shopping fest.
Organizer Julie Gilhart has her shoppers pegged :
"The Co-Op customer runs a little faster and dances to a different beat" she notes.
In fact, I don't know why I'm wasting my time on this blog - I'm off to snag my spot in the front of the line....
