Goodbye Bryant Park - Hello Somerset House

So New York fashion week is done and dusted. The tents have seen their last soiree - which indeed was a full on one last night with the free bar and all. The fash pack move to the Lincoln Centre from next September, or at least the ones who still fly the Mercedes-Benz flag, there are plenty of new guard 'pop-up' shows and presentations to keep the rest of the city busy. With Mac & Milk shows, Altman building presentations and Green Shows on the lower east side a fashionista is going to be busy hot footing it from venue to venue next season that's for sure.

What did we learn from this season? You can wear pretty much anything you fancy and it will pass as 'now'. We saw androgyny, sheer, ruffles, prints, fur, boho, body con, military, belting, did I mention fur?, simple chic, artisan and a whole lot more.

We worked out that an invite to a fashion show doesn't actually mean you're invited unless you have rsvp'd 3 times. Once in the hallowed ground of the showroom, all bets are off and fisticuffs can occur over seating assignments.

We figured out it doesn't matter what you wear to a show unless you're front row, so no amount of pre closet angst is worth it.

We also found that you are never too young to start being a fashionista - Tavi the tween had a lot to say but having spotted Tracey the toddler - already in her second season at the tents, I'm thinking Tavi has competition.

We certainly saw the good, the bad and the downright ugly in terms of fashion - and that was only on the runways. When it was bad it was very very bad, but when it was good it was beautiful and that makes it all worth it.

So it's goodbye to Bryant Park and hello to Somerset House - London Fashion Week, here we come...
