Interesting news from trusted fashion stalwarts WWD recently, who had scooped a collaboration rumor between Diana Ross - entertainer extraordinaire and Steve Madden - shoe designer. Websites were buzzing with the news - but could it be true?
Given Ms Ross's penchant for mad stage attire throughout her illustrious career - remember those Supremes get ups way back when, the fit was a bit suspect. One might have thought that design and production would be linked to a new line of sky high heels or some super sexy platforms with extreme diva detailing. But that the proposed collaboration was for a line of sneakers to be punted out through Footlocker - hmm - let me think about this for a minute.
Unless Mr Madden was heading down the be-dazzled sneaker route - this rumor had to be false. A little more digging and it seems his comment was taken out of context,
"When recently pressed about potential partnerships with musicians, I made this comment in jest only because she's so beautiful and fashionable and a true music legend."
So for the meantime, let's concentrate on collaborations that are true such as his upcoming Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsenboye collection that will be available from JC Penney
